Access to your car
Your car can be accessed from the Start Location ("Base") that you selected when you made your booking. You can find information about our Bases in our FAQs.
Starting your booking
A booking commences when you access the mobile app and select Start Booking.
Please be aware that depending on internet speed and latency, it can take up to 30 seconds for the car to respond to your app command.
It is your responsibility to:
- Remove the car from its charger and safely tidy cables.
- Check that the car has sufficient charge for the journey you are making.
- Inspect the car for visual damage before driving and complete a report via the in-App damage reporting functionality, or if required contact us.
During your booking
While you are using a GoTo car you must always:
- Always have your driver licence physically on you.
- Take all reasonable care and attention when driving and parking the car.
- Ensure the car is locked when unattended by using Lock and Unlock functions in the App.
- Stop driving (at a safe location) if any warning lights in the car activated throughout your booking. Consult the owner’s manual located in the car's glove box. If you are unable to solve the problem you must contact us immediately.
Ending your booking
When you are finished with your car you must:
- Return the car to the same park that you collected it from if available, or another designated GoTo Car Share park. If for any reason you do not park in a designated GoTo Car Share park, you must contact us immediately.
- Connect the car up to a charger (if available) and use the fob key to start the charge (if available). If there is any problem placing a car back on charge you must contact us via the App or phone as soon as possible.
- Return the car in a clean, tidy, acceptable manner and remove any rubbish and/or debris left on the car floor mats. Contact us if the car is soiled or requires additional cleaning following your booking.
- Check all areas of the car for personal items and remove them before finishing your booking. Once the booking is completed, you will not be able to access the car. If you need to re-enter the car for any reason please contact us.
Your Booking is not finished until you have:
- Returned the car to a valid park at the correct Base (or attempted to and then contacted us)
- Placed the car back on charge (or attempted to and then contacted us)
- Returned the Fob Key to the car
- Locked the car and checked it is locked.
- Pressed End Booking and received a confirmation from the App.
If you do not successfully end your Booking you will be charged in accordance with the Pricing & Fees Schedule until the Booking has actually been completed.
If you have any issues completing your Booking you should contact us immediately.
