Vehicle Safety and Maintenance

Written by

We make sure every GoTo vehicle is safe to drive. All vehicles are serviced regularly, checked for safety, and carry a current Certificate of Fitness (CoF) as required. If a vehicle is not legally allowed on the road, we take it out of service.

Your Part

  • Before you start driving, do a quick check of the car. Look for any obvious damage, flat tyres, warning lights or anything that doesn’t seem right.
  • If you see a problem, don’t drive the car. Contact us straight away.
  • We provide an initial induction for all new drivers, and instruction on how to use each vehicle before the first time they are used by a new driver. If you have not had your induction and/or vehicle instruction, please arrange this with us before your first use of any vehicle.
  • Always follow the instructions provided in the glovebox, app, or our policies.

Incidents

If you’re involved in an accident, notice damage, or if the car has a fault while you’re driving:

  • Stop using the vehicle if it is unsafe.
  • Call 111 in an emergency.
  • Report the issue to GoTo as soon as possible through the app or by phone.
  • Fill in the Vehicle Incident Key Information form (in the glovebox).

We’ll arrange repairs, investigate the problem, and if needed remove the vehicle from service until it’s safe to use again.
